Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose mounting location carefully.

  1. Mount the unit: Use included bracket to mount on flat surface at helm.
  2. Connect power: Route power cable to 10–32 V DC source; connect red to positive, black to negative.
  3. Connect NMEA 2000: Attach to NMEA 2000 network using appropriate cables and connectors.
  4. Connect accessories: Attach radar, sonar, autopilot, or VHF via Ethernet or NMEA ports.
  5. Secure cables: Use cable ties to secure and protect all connections.

WARNING! Ensure power is off during installation. Route cables away from moving parts and heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Controls and Settings

Navigation: Set waypoints, routes, tracks; adjust map orientation (North Up, Course Up). Chart: Adjust detail, depth shading, chart appearance. Sonar: Configure frequency, range, sensitivity for connected transducer. System: Set backlight, sounds, units, language, network, software updates.

Connecting Devices

NMEA 2000: Connect to network for engine data, wind, depth, etc. Radar: Connect via Ethernet cable. Sonar: Connect transducer to appropriate sonar module. Autopilot: Connect via NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183.

  1. Turn off power to all devices before connecting.
  2. Use appropriate Garmin cables and connectors.
  3. Configure each device in the Network section of the System menu.

Tip: Label cables during installation for easier identification later.

Navigation & Chartplotting

Supports waypoints, routes, tracks, and AIS (if connected).

  1. Create waypoint: Press ENTER/MARK at current location or tap spot on chart.
  2. Create route: Select Route > New Route, tap chart points, save.
  3. Follow route: Select route, choose Navigate To.
  4. View track: Enable track recording to see path traveled.
  5. Use AIS: If AIS receiver connected, view targets on chart with details.
  6. Alarms: Set anchor drag, arrival, off-course, and other alarms.
  7. Man Overboard (MOB): Press and hold ENTER/MARK to mark MOB location and navigate back.

Sonar & Radar Features

Sonar: View depth, fish arches, bottom structure. Adjust frequency (50/200 kHz), range, and sensitivity. Radar: Overlay radar image on chart for situational awareness. Adjust range, gain, clutter.

Care & Maintenance

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use fresh water and mild soap with soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives.

CAUTION! Ensure seals are intact for waterproofing. Store in protective cover when not in use.
