Installation & Power

Unpack and inspect contents. Install batteries or connect to external power.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert two AA batteries (alkaline or NiMH).
  2. External power: Use optional 12V DC cable for marine or automotive use.
  3. Mounting: Use optional handlebar, marine, or dashboard mount.
  4. Power on: Press and hold POWER key.

WARNING! Use only recommended batteries. Ensure battery compartment is sealed for waterproof integrity.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; follow initial setup prompts.

  1. Acquire satellites: Go outdoors with clear sky view; unit will automatically locate satellites.
  2. Set language: In Main Menu > Setup > System, select language (default ENGLISH).

  4. Use MapSource to transfer data; manage files via computer file explorer.

Tip: Ensure GPS is powered on during data transfer. Use latest MapSource version.

Basic Navigation

Navigate to waypoints, follow routes, track your path.

  1. Create waypoint: Press MARK to save current location; edit name/symbol.
  2. Go to waypoint: Press FIND, select Waypoints, choose destination, press GOTO.
  3. Follow route: Main Menu > Routes > Create/Select route > Activate.
  4. View map: PAGE to Map screen; shows position, waypoints, tracks.
  5. Compass screen: Displays bearing to destination, speed, distance.
  6. Highway screen: Graphical steering guidance.

WARNING! GPS accuracy can be affected by terrain, buildings, foliage. Always have a backup navigation method.

Advanced Features

Tide predictions (with BlueChart), MOB (Man Overboard), Area calculation, Sun/Moon information, Hunt/Fish calendar.

MOB: Press and hold FIND key to mark MOB position and begin navigation back.

Tracks: Automatically records track log; can save, reverse, or navigate track back.

Alarms: Set anchor drag, proximity, off-course, and arrival alarms.

Care & Maintenance

Clean with fresh water after saltwater use. Use mild soap and soft cloth; rinse thoroughly.

CAUTION! Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or high-pressure water. Ensure battery compartment seal is clean and intact. Store in cool, dry place.
