Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose a suitable mounting location with clear view and access.

  1. Mount the bracket: Use provided hardware to secure bracket to helm or console.
  2. Route cables: Plan cable path avoiding sharp edges and heat sources.
  3. Connect power: Connect red wire to positive (+), black wire to negative (-) on boat's 10–35 Vdc system.
  4. Connect network: Attach Garmin Marine Network cable to other compatible devices if needed.
  5. Connect sonar: Attach transducer cable to appropriate port.
  6. Secure device: Snap chartplotter into mounted bracket.

WARNING! Ensure all connections are secure and protected from moisture. Disconnect power before installation.

First-Time Setup

Power on device; follow on-screen prompts.

Connecting Devices

Garmin Marine Network: Connect to other Garmin plotters, radars, or sounders. Wi-Fi: Connect to smartphone/tablet for ActiveCaptain.

  1. Turn off power before connecting devices.

Using Charts & Navigation

Built-in BlueChart g2 and LakeVu HD maps provide detailed coastal and inland coverage.

  1. View Chart: From Home, tap Navigation or Chart.
  2. Navigate to Waypoint: Tap Where To? > Waypoints, select destination, and Go.
  3. Create Route: Tap Where To? > Routes > Create Route, tap points on chart, and Save.
  4. Follow Route: Select route from list and Go.
  5. Use Tracks: View and navigate saved tracks.
  6. Access ActiveCaptain: Connect via Wi-Fi to download community data, dockage info, and software updates.
  7. Set Alarms: Configure anchor drag, arrival, and off-course alarms in Navigation settings.

Using Sonar Features

Access sonar from Home screen. Traditional Sonar: For depth and fish arches. ClearVü: For detailed downward view of structure and bottom. SideVü: For detailed sideways view of structure and fish.

  1. Select Sonar View: Tap Sonar icon, then choose Traditional, ClearVü, or SideVü.
  2. Adjust Settings: Tap screen to access Gain, Range, Frequency, and Palette.
  3. Interpret Display: Learn to identify bottom composition, structure, and fish targets.
  4. Use A-Scope: Enable for real-time vertical depth column.
  5. Split Screen: View multiple sonar frequencies or views simultaneously.

Note: Sonar performance depends on transducer installation, water conditions, and boat speed.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use fresh water and mild soap with soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or high-pressure water.

CAUTION! Ensure connectors and ports are dry before reconnecting power. Store in protective cover when not in use.
