Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose a suitable mounting location.

  1. Mount the bracket: Select a flat surface with clear view; secure using provided hardware.
  2. Connect power/data cable: Route cable to power source and connect red to positive, black to negative.
  3. Connect optional devices: Attach NMEA 0183 devices to appropriate wires; connect NMEA 2000 network if used.
  4. Secure the unit: Slide chartplotter onto bracket and tighten locking screw.

WARNING! Ensure power is off during installation. Use appropriate circuit protection. Route cables away from moving parts and heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Apply power; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Initial GPS fix: Place unit in open sky view; acquisition may take several minutes.
  2. Set language and units: Use MENU > System > Language and Units to select preferences.
  3. Configure chart display: Adjust detail, orientation (North Up/Course Up), and data fields.
  4. Calibrate sensors (if applicable): Follow prompts for compass or water speed calibration.

Connecting Devices

NMEA 0183: Connect to external GPS, autopilot, AIS, etc., using designated wires. NMEA 2000: Connect to compatible network via appropriate cable. Sonar: Connect optional GSD 22 module and transducer.

  1. Turn off all devices before making connections.
  2. Refer to wiring diagram for NMEA 0183 connections (Tx/Rx, Ground).
  3. For NMEA 2000, ensure proper termination and power on the backbone.
  4. Select data sources in MENU > System > Communications.

Tip: Use marine-grade heat-shrink tubing and sealants for all external connections.

Using Navigation Features

Supports waypoint, route, and track navigation.

  1. Create Waypoint: Press ENTER/MARK at current location or cursor position.
  2. Navigate To: Select a waypoint or chart object, choose "Go To".
  3. Create Route: MENU > Routes > New Route, add points from chart or list.
  4. Follow Route: Activate route from list; use steering guidance on screen.
  5. Track Recording: Automatically records track; can save and reverse.
  6. Man Overboard (MOB): Press and hold ENTER/MARK to mark MOB position and begin navigation back.
  7. Data Screens: Cycle through PAGES to view trip data, compass, highway, etc.

Sonar Features (Optional)

With GSD 22 sounder module installed: Access via Sonar Page. Shows depth, water temperature, bottom contour, and fish arches. Adjust frequency, range, gain, and alarms.

Care & Maintenance

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth with mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

CAUTION! Ensure the protective cover is sealed when not in use. Store in a cool, dry place. Periodically check cable connections for corrosion.
