Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose a suitable mounting location with clear view and access.

  1. Mount the bracket: Use provided hardware to secure bracket to helm or console.
  2. Connect power/data cable: Route cable to power source and NMEA network if used.
  3. Connect optional devices: Attach sonar module, radar, or other NMEA devices.
  4. Secure the unit: Snap the chartplotter onto the mounted bracket.

WARNING! Ensure all electrical connections are correct polarity and properly insulated. Drill mounting holes carefully to avoid damaging underlying structures.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; follow initial setup prompts.

  1. Select language: Choose from available languages.
  2. Configure units: Set distance, speed, depth, and temperature units (e.g., nautical miles, knots).
  3. Agree to terms: Read and accept the license agreement.
  4. Acquire GPS signal: Place unit in open sky view; wait for satellite acquisition.
  5. Calibrate sensors (if applicable): Follow on-screen instructions for compass or water speed.

CAUTION! During initial satellite acquisition, keep the unit stationary in an open area for best results.

Controls and Settings

Connecting Devices

NMEA 2000: Connect to backbone for engine data, wind, depth, etc. NMEA 0183: Connect to compatible devices using TX/RX wires. Sonar: Connect compatible GSD module via dedicated port. Radar: Connect Garmin radar via network port (if supported).

  1. Turn off power before making connections.
  2. Use proper cables and connectors; ensure waterproof seals are intact.
  3. Configure connected devices in the System > NMEA Setup menu.

Tip: Label all cables during installation for easier future maintenance.

Using Navigation Features

Supports waypoint navigation, route creation, track logging.

  1. Create waypoint: Move cursor to desired location, press MARK.
  2. Navigate to waypoint: Select waypoint from list, press GOTO.
  3. Create route: In Route Planner, add waypoints in sequence.
  4. Follow route: Select route, press NAVIGATE.
  5. View data: Customize data fields to show speed, course, distance, etc.

  7. Use TracBack: Retrace your path using recorded track.

Sonar Features (If Equipped)

When connected to a GSD sounder module, displays traditional sonar, A-scope, and optional DownVu/SideVu.

  1. Select sonar page: Press PAGE until Sonar page appears.
  2. Adjust settings: Use MENU to set frequency, range, sensitivity, etc.
  3. Interpret display: Fish arches, bottom contour, and structure.
  4. Use A-scope: Real-time water column information on side of screen.

Note: Sonar performance depends on transducer installation and water conditions.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth with fresh water. Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

CAUTION! Ensure the protective cover is installed when not in use to prevent sun damage and scratches. Keep connectors free of debris and corrosion.
