Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Install batteries and acquire satellite signal.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 2 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Initial satellite acquisition: Power on unit outdoors with clear view of sky; allow up to 15 minutes for first fix.
  3. Mounting options: Use optional mounting bracket for marine or vehicle installation.
  4. Connect to PC: Use optional data cable to RS-232 serial port for data transfer.

WARNING! Do not install batteries if compartment is wet. Ensure proper polarity to avoid damage.

First-Time Setup

Power on GPS; follow on-screen prompts.

Navigation Features

Basic navigation using Go To, Routes, and TracBack®.

  1. Go To: Select waypoint; press ENTER to navigate directly.
  2. Routes: Create or follow multi-leg routes; navigate sequentially.
  3. TracBack®: Retrace your path along saved track log.
  4. Find: Search for waypoints, cities, or points of interest.
  5. Man Overboard (MOB): Press and hold ENTER/MARK to mark MOB position and navigate back.
  6. Highway Page: Provides steering guidance to destination.
  7. Map Page: View your position on map with waypoints and tracks.

WARNING! GPS accuracy can be affected by environmental factors; always use with caution.

Waypoints & Routes

Create and manage waypoints and routes for navigation.

Mark Waypoint: Press ENTER/MARK at current location; edit name/symbol.

Edit Waypoint: MENU > Waypoints > select to edit or delete.

Create Route: MENU > Routes > New; add waypoints in sequence.

Activate Route: Select route and choose Navigate.

Reverse Route: Useful for return trips.

Care & Cleaning
