Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Installation should be performed by a certified aviation technician.

  1. Mounting: Secure mounting tray to aircraft instrument panel using provided hardware.
  2. Power Connection: Connect to aircraft 14V or 28V DC power bus through appropriate circuit breaker.
  3. Antenna Connection: Connect provided GPS antenna to rear ANT connector; ensure clear view of sky.
  4. Audio/Radio Interface: Connect to aircraft audio panel and COM/NAV radios per wiring diagram.
  5. External Devices: Connect optional devices (traffic receiver, AHRS) to appropriate ports.

WARNING! Installation must comply with applicable aviation regulations. Ensure proper bonding and grounding.

First-Time Setup

Power on unit; follow initialization prompts.

  1. Initialization: Allow GPS to acquire satellites (may take several minutes first time).
  2. Database Loading: Insert database card or load via USB; confirm current database.
  3. System Configuration: Set units (nm/km), altitude (feet/meters), time format, and magnetic variation.
  4. Audio Setup: Configure COM frequencies, squelch, and audio panel interface settings.
  5. Terrain/Traffic: Enable and configure TAWS and TIS alerts as needed.

CAUTION! Verify all settings before flight. Ensure database is current for intended flight operations.

Specifications
