Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Insert batteries and secure battery cover.

  1. Insert Batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 2 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Secure Cover: Ensure O-ring is clean and seated, then tighten cover securely.
  3. Initial Power On: Press and hold POWER button until unit beeps and display activates.
  4. Acquire Satellite Signal: Go outdoors with clear view of sky for first satellite acquisition.

WARNING! Do not use damaged batteries. Ensure battery cover is fully sealed for waterproofing.

First-Time Setup

Power on device; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Set Language: Use ROCKER to highlight language, press ENTER to select.
  2. Configure Units: Set measurement units (Metric, Statute, Nautical).
  3. Calibrate Compass (if equipped): Follow on-screen instructions to calibrate electronic compass.

Connecting Devices

  2. Connect USB cable to computer and device for data transfer via Garmin BaseCamp™ or MapSource®.
  3. Select "USB Mass Storage" mode when prompted on device screen.

Tip: Ensure USB port cover is fully closed after disconnecting cable to maintain waterproof seal.

Using GPS Navigation

Supports waypoint navigation, track recording, and route following.

  1. Mark Waypoint: Press and hold ENTER at current location to save waypoint.
  2. Navigate to Waypoint: From Main Menu, select "Waypoints", choose destination, select "Go To".
  3. Record Track: Ensure track logging is enabled in Track Setup menu.
  4. Follow Route: Create or load a route from Main Menu > Routes, then select "Follow".
  5. Use Map Page: View current location and track on map; zoom with ROCKER.
  6. Use Compass Page: Displays bearing to destination, current heading, and distance.

Care & Cleaning
